Happy Birthday O&C!
Dearest Readers,
July 4th marks the third birthday for Oysters & Chocolate! In 2005, we were “Coming out with a Bang!” – pun intended – and we’ve strived to provide nothing but “coming” and “bangs” ever since.
We are thrilled to be celebrating our third anniversary! The zine is still so young, and just like any three-year-old, she’s learned and grown so much – through offering her wares for free (that harlot!), transforming through a major redesign (she’s not a little girl anymore!), and the ever-exciting book deal with Penguin (she’s now a pro!).
We wish we could throw the best third birthday extravaganza ever and invite every one of our writers, artists, and readers over for a good ol’ fashioned, pink-princess-themed party, including tiaras, champagne, and lots of cake and frosting! O&C wouldn’t be what she is today without the amazing creative force of the contributors and readers that she has. So while we can’t throw a huge bash and invite each and every one of you to attend, we hope you hold a little celebration for yourself. Cuddle up with your favorite lover (which could be yourself, of course) pour yourself your preferred drink, light a sparkler, and read a story (or two, or three). Make a toast to O&C and to your own sexuality, and be sure to consummate the celebration with a bang!
