February 2010 Editor's Letter

From your editors Jordan LaRousse and Samantha Sade

Dear Readers,

With romance in the air, February is the perfect time for you to reconnect with your special someone, or to kindle a new romance. Life is about relationships, love, and our connections with our fellow humans. At Oysters & Chocolate we celebrate sex as one of the most profound ways you can touch the spirit of another.

Cupid wasn’t always a cherubic baby, according to the History Channel, the original Cupid was the Greek god of sex and erotic love, Eros. It was the Romans who toned this sex god down to the image of an innocent angel of romantic love.

This year we encourage you to channel the symbol of Eros. Reach out and touch your husband, wife, boyfriend, girlfriend, or lover this month. Enhance your sex life by helping your partner make his or her special sexual fantasy come true. If you send your lover a Valentine’s day a card, make it handmade and meaningful and don’t forget a big dollop of sexual spice (for ideas check out our selection of erotic poetry). And although the holiday is a good reminder to connect heart to heart (and dare we say crotch to crotch), remember to try to invoke the power of Eros all year long for a healthy, happy sex life.
