An Erotic Book Review
Rock My Socks Off: An Erotic Novel
By Jeremy Edwards
While on a ridiculous writing assignment about a rocking horse museum, playful writer Jacob Hastings meets vivacious astronomer Normandie Stephens, and a hilarious and horny love affair ensues. The dynamic duo engages in all manner of exceptionally creative sex acts, all the while hurdling comedic challenges, like trying to impersonate astronomers and pass off fabricated rocking horse-shaped galaxies.
The couple can’t keep their pants on for more than two pages at a time. They engage in lustful interludes on top of a rocking horse, in an observatory, in a changing room, a hotel, a shower, a cramped college office, and in front of, and then with, a sexy photographer. They enjoy threesomes without guilt, they make love wearing ridiculous socks, raspberry color panties, and hippy costumes; and they perform a whole host of zany sex acts like “lick-ups.” And those are only a few of their adventures. The story is replete with “Orgasms, orgasms, orgasms. Orgasms for breakfast, orgasms for lunch, orgasms for dinner with extra orgasm sauce and more orgasms for dessert.” (p. 121)
What makes this book truly special, though, is the raucous sense of humor upon which the sex is buoyed. This is all facilitated by author Jeremy Edwards' unique and creative use of language; his finesse with witty dialogue, double entendres, and finding the mot juste for any sticky situation. There is not a cliché to be found in the entire novel and, when it comes to erotica, that alone is quite a feat.
Rock My Socks Off is the type of book that makes you want both to have better sex and to become a better writer.
