Nice Girls, Naughty Sex

Honeymoon Suite

Photo by Laura BoydWhat is the inspiration behind "Honeymoon Suite"?
My inspiration is definitely a combination of nice and naughty. I happen to love looking at people’s wedding albums. Honest. Even though the woman is always in white and the man is invariably wearing a tux, I’m not bored at all. In fact, I’d love to see yours! Anyway, one day I was letting my imagination wander into the forbidden wild—that’s my job as an erotica writer after all—and I began to wonder what it would be like if it were the custom to invite the wedding photographer to commemorate the more intimate pleasures of the wedding night. And then my imagination really started going wild. There’s also another character in the story I’m especially fond of, “Buddy” the strap-on dildo. Giving your phallic sex toy a name just seems deliciously perverted to me.
What makes the character(s) in your story nice but naughty?
My protagonist, Melody, is a bit like me—she yearns “to make the mystery of real female pleasure into something everyone could see.” It’s a noble artistic goal, but in the course of the story she gets a little too physically involved in the action to be called irreproachably professional.
If you could have sex with any famous character, (fictional or not, living or not), who would it be and why?
I’d definitely like to have my way with Rick Blaine in Casablanca. After he’s defeated the Nazis with Louis Renault, I’d waltz into his new club and make him forget that troublesome Ilsa woman ever existed. Why? Because he’s a great guy and he deserves to have another chance at a grand passion!
Rick BlaineWhat does your mother think about your writing erotica?
Actually my mother passed away around about the time I began writing, but I’m certain she’d be supportive of the general idea that I’m doing what I love. I’d probably pass along a French vanilla story now and then, but I’d spare her my edgier experiments. She most definitely would not see “Honeymoon Suite”--no way, no how!
