What is the inspiration behind "Behind Bars"?
I'm a former corrections officer, so I've done the job. (The job, not my sergeant, like Miss Betsy Blue. *wink*) When you're in life/death situations every day, bonds form and what's more life-affirming than sex? Not to mention I know a few people who have done this very thing.
What makes the character(s) in your story nice but naughty?
My characters are good people, they face the things in the dark that wear a human face so other people don't have to and they do it every day. The naughty part, of course, is having sex at work. Especially in that kind of environment.
If you could have sex with any famous character, (fictional or not, living or not), who would it be and why?
I have to pick one? Oh my. Strahd Von Zarovich from the Ravenloft series. He's so tortured and dark, but he's not whiny about it. I like the kind who suffer in silence. Or tear down castles and raid neighboring villages to ease their pain.
What does your mother think about your writing erotica?
My mother gave me my first Bertrice Small book. When I first started writing explicitly though, all I could think was that my mother is going to read this and she'll want to know how I know you get sand in uncomfortable places when you have sex on the beach. Now that I'm an adult, all bets are off and she's okay with that.
