It all started two winters ago. It was a cold, February night in Breckenridge, Colorado, when the idea for Oysters & Chocolate first came to us. We were celebrating one of our best friend's birthdays with a fun evening of hot-tubbing, champagne and dancing. Walking around in that crisp, Breckenridge air, we both agreed that there was classy, exciting and stimulating erotica out there, but we were sick of sifting through the mass of sub-par work on other sites to find the good stuff. And more than that, we were sick of most of it being targeted towards men.
We like to say that Oysters & Chocolate was first born in our imaginations as we slipped and stumbled back to our rented condo, with frozen fingers and red noses, champagne on our breath and a twinkle in our eyes. The ezine was first warmed and began to take life on that February night in the cold, Rocky Mountain air. But in actuality, Oysters & Chocolate comes from that spark in every woman where brains, body and imagination come together to make for great sex.
Oysters & Chocolate has been in publication now for a little over a year, and it has simply been an extraordinary experience. We've received incredible writing and artwork - the work that we knew was out there and for which we created the site. The O&C community has truly blossomed.
This summer, another thought was born. This time, it was under the warm, evening sky of the Colorado Rockies. Beers in hand, we relaxed on the deck and gazed up as the stars came out in the enormity of the Colorado sky. Perhaps it was the openness of the cloudless, twinkling expanse, perhaps it was the timeless beauty of the emerging constellations. But we realized that the next step for O&C was to open it up.
And so, it's with great excitement that we announce we are now a free site!
It's our goal to embrace women, to open their minds to their own sexuality and to celebrate erotica in general, and we believe that by opening our site, we'll reach more women. We'll continue to publish only the best erotica, poetry, columns and artwork, and we'll continue to tend to the smart and sexy community that is O&C.
It is with great pleasure that we welcome everyone to enjoy "Divine" the September issue of Oysters & Chocolate where we explore the spiritual side of sexuality.
