About the author

Carter Vaughn began illustrating the opposite sex in the third grade. His first model was the lovely Miss Summers, his teacher, who never knew she was immortalized with a number 2 pencil in the pages of a health and nutrition book. She remains in his memory the perfect Venus doodle, reclining sensuously atop the fruit and vegetables of the food pyramid's clip art. Since those crayon-colored days, he has never tired of sketching the female form and considers such art a continuation of primitive man's first attempts at explaining the mysteries of the world. Indeed, should ever extraterrestrials land on earth, he is convinced the first request of the visitors will be: "Bring us your doodles of naked ladies! And chocolate! And oysters!"
